Commencing Care
Confirming your child’s place
To confirm your child’s place at BiraBira ELC, we require a $300 bond to secure your child’s spot. The bond is refundable when you give us four weeks’ notice that your child is terminating care at BiraBira ELC. (The refund can take up to 6 weeks as we require time for CCS to settle accounts).
Orientation Process
The countdown begins until your child attends their first day at BiraBira. Prior to your child commencing care, we will be in touch to organise a couple of orientation sessions. The duration of the first orientation is one hour long. During this first orientation, parents are required to stay with their children. This ensures families are provided the opportunity to get to know the educators, routines, learning environment, and ask any questions they have about their child’s first day.
The duration of our second orientation is four hours long and you won’t be required to stay for this session. This orientation provides a great opportunity for your child to settle into their new learning environment independently and confidently. Throughout their day, we will endeavor to keep you updated during this session regarding your child progress as they start their learning journey with us.
(Orientation sessions are booked as close to your child’s commencement date to allow a smooth transition)
Two-day Minimum
At BiraBira ELC we have a minimum of two-days per week. We believe that attending BiraBira ELC for two days or more per week helps your child to feel comfortable, build relationships with their educators and peers, so they are able to happily immerse themselves in their learning programs.
OWNA Portal
At BiraBira ELC, we utilise an app called OWNA which allows us to communicate with you through your very own parent/carer profile.
The app allows families to see what your child is getting up to each day, alongside daily information, developmental updates, so that we can work in a collaborative partnership to support your child’s learning journey.
